Ive read this books series about 5 times now and its just gets better and better! I love these books so much! Twilight was the only books series i had ever read before this and that was a few years ago now. My friends at the time had mentioned reading this book and also the 2013 film had just come out, me and my younger cousin watched it together and decided to download the kindle book and read it! We needed to know what happens next! “Jace and Clary siblings?!?!?! NOOO!” (<<<our reaction)
When reading the book i realised it was different to the film but i instantly loved it! The plot was great and you understood the characters so much better!

The book mainly focuses on a girl aged 16 called Clary Fray. Her life is turned upside down when her mother is kidnapped and is thrown into a world of Shadowhunters, Downworlder and Demons!
My favourite character in the book is definitely Jace, I mean who’s isn’t?!?! His cocky attitude and apparent “don’t care” attitude I just love! His relationship with Clary keeps me NEEDING to read more, even though I know what happens. You feel so much to Jace with his upbringing, it helps you get a better grip on why he is in fact cocky!
After Jace Simon comes in a very close second! The poor guy is the king of the “friend-zone”. All the time he has known Clary he’s obviously liked her and she’s just so clueless. Simon’s one liners in the books are brilliant, the amount of edit pics I have seen with his quotes on is crazy!
And Finally Clary, I love how strong she is! Her mother gets kidnapped and instead on breaking down and hiding in the corner she’s the first one to fight! Again her relationship with Jace keeps the readers on there toes throughout the whole series. Clary grows as a character, with her powers coming through you see how much more confident she gets and i love that!
The book series as a whole definitely kept you guessing! It was hard to put the books down! I love how instead of just one bad guy in the whole thing there was two. Valentines part was very dramatic I felt, his need for power and to do everything so over the top was overwhelming at parts but that why i loved it! i felt so a part of the book! Then with Sebastian/Johnathan’s part he was just sadistic. He took things very slowly and messed with everyone which drove me insane!!!! I just wanted to jump into the book and tell everyone what he was up to!
My favourite book in the series is 100% City of Glass. Everything in that book i just adore! How everything happens, how book 4 is set up, how the truth is relieved and the conflict with everyone! You also get your first glimpse of IDIRS Shadowhunter country, the description on the place is well done and i got a very clear image in my head of what i though IDRIS looked like.
The only thing I didn’t really like in the book is how I wish the author would of dug deeper into the other relationships in the book. It would of been nice to see more parts with Malec (Magnus and Alec) and Sizzy (Simon and Isabel)! Especially at the beginning of their relationships.
I rate this book 5/5 and would 100% recommend this to EVERYONE!
